The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is the largest professional organization for interior designers, representing both residential and commercial design sectors. With over 30,000 members nationally, ASID serves as a common platform for professionals and businesses in the interior design field. Established in 1975 through the merger of the American Institute of Decorators and the National Society of Interior Designers, ASID promotes professionalism in interior design services and products for both workplace and home environments.
ASID offers various membership categories catering to designers at different career stages, including students of interior design. The association focuses on professional development through programs that cover the Impact of Design, Business of Design, Leadership Development, and Health & Wellness. Additionally, ASID conducts independent research to provide members with up-to-date information on materials, technology, building codes, government regulations, design psychology, and product performance.
The Colorado Chapter of ASID, with over 500 local members and nearly 100 Industry Partners, aims to be a definitive resource for professional education, knowledge sharing, advocacy of interior designers’ right-to-practice, and expansion of interior design markets. ASID collaborates with industry partners, manufacturers, and suppliers to promote the value of interior design and prepare members to excel in a dynamic and evolving profession. Through its commitment to research, knowledge management, and government relations, ASID continues to support the growth and success of interior design professionals and businesses.
